TVR at GopherDunes

Thames Valley Riders raced this past Sunday at GopherDunes.

I could only stay a few hours had to go to my real job in

the afternoon.

The only thing I wish they would have done ,was start

riders meeting hour earlier.

After practice ,racing started around 11:30am which seems a little late

in my opinion.

As usual the track was in great condition but the weather wasn't that great.

It was really chilly hands got cold fast.

CMRC race at GopherDunes

This past Sunday at Gopher Dunes CMRC held their first points race and ANQ.

The weather was not looking so good because the rain was coming. When the morning arrived there was lots of it.

The Dunes was packed full of riders. I haven't seen that many motorhomes and trailers in a while. For the first time in a while, the ATVs were on the schedule this weekend. From what I was told it was a numbers situation. It is more feasible now to run bikes and ATVs on the same day. The track was in awesome condition thanks to the Schuster family and their hard work.

With the track nice and smooth it made it very fast, however some riders paid the price and crashed hard.

By the afternoon the ruts were deep which helped slow the pace down so there were less crashes.

It was nice to see full gates. When 40 riders fly into the first corner it's a cool sight. The ProAm race had a handful of full-time Pro national riders in it. Kyle Keast and Tyler Medaglia had a good battle in both motos with Tyler taking the overall with a 2-1 and Kyle taking second with a 1-2. Third place went too Nathan Bles.

In a week they will be racing at Motopark. They have added some new dirt that has made it even better.

Redbull Canada was on hand with there cool arch.

Full gates were the norm for the day.

ProAm Moto1 start.

and went 1-1 womens class.

Junior Mx 3 start Derek Knatko with the holeshot!

Video cameras were following Tyler Medaglia and GopherDunes team,

they were shooting a pilot series like a Canadian version

of " motocross inside the outdoors".

Greg Gee went 1-1 in the PRO ATV class.

Steven Azarkiewicz ran into a little trouble on

the start,looked like he hurt is wrist.

Hayden Halstead won the inter MX-2 class

Tyler Medaglia won the overall in PRO/AM.

Kyle Keast "Dozer" had good battle with Tyler M

but ended up second overall.

CMRC practice day at GopherDunes

The CMRC held a practice day at GopherDunes this past Sunday.

The crowd was a little smaller at first due to it being Easter Sunday,

but as the day went on more riders showed up.

The sun was shining when the track opened to the riders,

but early in the afternoon clouds rolled in and it got a little damp.

That didn't stop the riders, even the riders who have been down south ,

the last few months.

Frank Schuster welcomed everyone to GopherDunes.

Ben Toye had a good day and was really fast

 then it went bad when I saw him fly over the handle bars

when he washed out in a corner, he was OK.

Then it got worse when I saw pushing his bike, thinks

he blew the motor and hoped he could get it fixed by next

weekends ANQ.

Nathan Bles was on his new ride and was having

a little trouble with the cold in the afternoon,

He's been down south the last little while in much warmer temps.

Richard Grey was looking comfortable on his new Yamaha.

Liam O'Farrell was on his TM racing bike and was

looking fast, it will be cool to see how this bike does.

Daymon Goold was looking real fast and even

had a little race going with Liam and Grey.

Ricky Conway was flying around the track on his Kawi.

There were a few quads out on the track.

This kid was flying around the mini track,

definitely a fast dude.

Tiffany Adams was showing some nice speed.

This rider and the finish line table jump had a disagreement,

the table jump won but he was OK.

David Pouw doing the foot drag to the extreme.

Looking forward to the ANQ next week at the Dunes.
